《隔帘花影》又名《三世报》，全书四十八回。本书实际上是删改丁耀亢的《续金瓶梅》而成，是《金瓶梅》三种续书中最受"好评"的一种。全书保留了《续金瓶梅》的基本情节，删去了有关宋金战争的描写，讲述了靖康年间金兵进犯中原，吴月娘等人的经历。小说的前面部分写南宫吉生前好色贪财等事，随着情节的展开，故事的叙述，作者极力描写人情之恶薄、报应之分明，以突显无人不报，无事不报的善恶因果关系。
