《诗经》最早称称《诗》或《诗三百》，是我国历史上最早的一部诗歌总集。据传经孔子整理编纂，后来儒家把它尊为经典，称作《诗经》。《诗经》大约编成于春秋时期，共收集诗歌三百零五篇，内容涉及政治、经济、伦理、天文、地理、风俗、文艺等诸多方面，开辟了中国诗歌现实主义创作的源头，被誉为中国古代社会的百科全书。《诗经》大量运用了赋、比、兴的表现手法，加强了作品的形象性，获得了良好的艺术效果，是中国诗歌乃至整个中国文学史上的一个光辉的起点。
